Far Infra Red Therapy

Why a Far Infra Red Sauna?

The skin is our largest organ of elimination, and sweating is considered to be a very effective way of removing toxins from the body. Sweat therapies have been used for thousands of years and proved to be effective for cleansing, relaxing and boosting general health.

Far Infrared (FIR) saunas may induce 2-3 times the sweat volume of traditional heat and steam saunas, with a lot less discomfort, and the sweat is believed to contain more toxins from the deeper fatty tissue layers below the skin.

An FIR sauna is also thought to be 7 times more effective at detoxifying heavy metals such as mercury, aluminium; as well as nicotine, alcohol, ammonia, and a range of environmental toxins.

The sweat from FIR sauna use is thought to contain more toxins then the sweat from ordinary saunas because the radiant, penetrating FIR rays are able to heat body tissue below the skin where the toxins are stored inside fatty deposits.

Detox

Our bodies are detoxing all the time. In theory, if we take in less external toxins, our overall toxic load should gradually reduce naturally. The problem is that in the real world avoiding external toxin intake is often easier said than done, and some toxins may affect the detox process itself by damaging metabolic pathways.

For the otherwise healthy individual, one option is to follow a short detox programme at regular intervals, and this is where the Far Infra Red Sauna comes into its own. Although not an invitation to make unhealthy lifestyle choices the rest of the time, it may make a useful contribution to maintaining health, particularly when used in combination with other simple strategies such as drinking plenty of pure water, taking a break from even moderate alcohol use, and avoiding highly processed foods.

Muscle and Joint Pain Relief with FIR Sauna in conjunction with therapeutic massage

There are many health benefits attributed to the use of a FIR sauna but the impact on muscle and joint pain relief may be of special interest to those suffering from arthritis, joint pain and other chronic ailments.

Infrared saunas increase circulation and detoxify the body in a relaxing, gentle manner without the use of medications, harsh chemicals or uncomfortable body wraps. By increasing blood circulation and removing metabolic waste, muscles are able to relax and pain relief to the affected joints is possible.

Having a Sauna before massage may help increase the healing process, and relieve pain, muscle spasms and sprains. The deep heating along with sweating, is thought to be responsible for many healing effects and other health benefits associated with these infrared rays, including detoxification, cardiovascular conditioning, immune system enhancement and stress control.
